This narrative of six hindu monks reaching Badrinath across glaciers beyond Gomukh in garhwal-Himalaya is a saga of perseverance, endurance and faith. An inspirational book for young people who have an interest in trekking and mountaineering. The six monks accomplished this feat barefoot about 50 years ago without equipment, warm clothing, goggles, torches or lanterns! Infact all they had with them was a bagful of foodstuff and two bundles of firewood which they carried on their backs. The entire expense incurred was Rs 39.00!
