Summary/Abstract |
The report recommends that India should also have legislation for safeguarding India's tangible cultural heritage following Japan and China's example. In addition, the artists themselves should be protected through a policy framework as they are the true torchbearers of our diverse and rich cultural landscape. It also recommends the creation of a structured cultural industry in India, given that culture is an integral part of sustainable human development.
