Publication Mumbai, India Fine Art, 2015.
Description 14pLight brown spine
Summary/Abstract His latest show, Astonishing Expendables, features 14 still life paintings in acrylic and oil of a variety of stainless steel objects on multicoloured geometric/dotted tablecloth. While the images initially strike you as photographs (with the metallic sheen, the shadow, the surroundings reflected on the metallic surface), they were actually hand-drawn over a span of two years. This exhibition also marks a departure from Anjaneyulu’s earlier shows, where he used solid coloured or white backgrounds for his paintings.

Curator's handbook: Museums, commeical galleries, independent spaces / George, Adrian 2015  Book
George, Adrian Book
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Publication London, Thames and Hudson, 2015.
Description 333pDark blue spine
Summary/Abstract This book is the essential handbook for curators and curatorial students, mapping every stage of the process of putting on an exhibition, no matter how traditional the venue, from initial idea to final installation. An introduction explores curatorial work from its origins in the seventeenth century onward and outlines the various roles of the curator today. Twelve chapters then trace the various stages of the exhibition process in clear, informative language and using helpful diagrams and tables, from developing the concept to writing contracts and loan requests; putting together budgets and schedules; producing exhibition catalogues and interpretation materials; designing gallery spaces; working with artists, lenders, and art handlers; organizing private views; and documenting and evaluating a show. With advice and tips from a cast of international museum directors and curators—including Daniel Birnbaum (Moderna Museet, Stockholm); Aric Chen (M+, Hong Kong); Elizabeth Macgregor (Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney); Hans Ulrich Obrist (Serpentine Gallery, London); Gao Peng (Today Art Museum, Beijing); Jennifer Russell (Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York); and Nicholas Serota (Tate, London)—this volume is a crucial guide for anyone involved in, or studying, the dynamic field of curation.

Impressionist women / Lucie-Smith, Edward 1989  Book
Lucie-Smith, Edward Book
0 Rating(s) & 0 Review(s)
Publication London, Weidenfeld and Nicholson, 1989.
Description 160pYellow spine
Summary/Abstract Images of women played a significant role in this new 'realist' interpretation of the world; they are now represented not as dim, mythical figures, but as real creatures of flesh and blood, whatever their position in the social hierarchy. The elegant society hostess and the modern bourgeois women enjoying a boating trip to Argentenil; the barmaid in one of Manet's noisy cafes and the Degas laundress; even the tart lounging lasciviously amidst the plush reds of the whore house - the Impressionists described all these women, to create a colourful and vived picture of Paris in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. Moreover, the numerous portraits painted by these artists of their families and friends offer us an intimate view of the close-knit community called the Impressionist circle.

Publication London, Phaidon Press Limited, 2010.
Description 203pBlue spine
Summary/Abstract During the 1960's, artists experimented within the landscape of vast, uncultivated spaces of desert and mountain as well as post-industrial wastelands to create colossal, primal symbols. Taking their work outside museum and gallery settings, artists experimented with ephemeral materials and the forces of nature to create sculptural, conceptual or performance works. This book is the most comprehensive and beautifully illustrated work on the subject.

Written for both younger and adult audiences, it presents a readable discussion of Leonardo's complex art, life, and thought, explores his ground-breaking research in medicine, hydraulics, metal-casting, mechanics, painting techniques, architecture, and the new science of warfare and weaponry, and examines his place in intellectual and art history.
