Summary/Abstract |
This film follows Lama Anagarika Govingda, a Bolivian-German professor of Philosophy into Tibet in 1948, on his quest for a true Guru. He is accompanied by his wife Li Gotami (Rati Petit), whose photographs and drawings of Tibet are in the museum, a treasured collection. This work leads us to the sacred world of monks where the Himalayan Art Gallery exhibits of the Museum come alive. Tangkhas adorn temples and the daily prayers show the use of ritual images and objects as we enter the sacred enclaves of monks and nuns in Dharamshala and Ladakh.
