It is the first time Lars will go alone to school. He decides to go backwards, so he can see his mother and the house as long as possible. It's not easy to get there on time when you go backwards, and the pathway goes through a scary forest. When Lars hears sounds around him, he realizes he is not alone. 'Not alone' is a beautiful and poetic picture book about the close and protective relationship between a mother and her son. However, it is only by meeting his own fear, that he can try to overcome it.
